1 injured in blast in Kishtwar

Srinagar: A blast took place in a car at Kishtwar town of Jammu region on Tuesday morning, leaving one person injured.

Reports said the injured, identified as Raj Kumar of Keshwan, a contractor, had parked his car (number JK 17-5097) at the Old Bus Stand late on Monday as he lives nearby.

In the morning, when he opened the front door of his car, there was an explosion inside the vehicle blowing off its gear box, and smashing both the front seats, its window panes and windscreen, the report added.

According to the victim, he had noticed a wire attached to the door but did not think much of it, the report added.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Sandeep Wazir was quoted in the report they are investigating the cause of the explosion, adding the injured has been hospitalised and his condition was stated to be stable.
