Aasiyeh Andrabi, aide sent to Srinagar central jail

Srinagar: The Court of 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Srinagar today gave orders to shift Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chief Aasiyeh Andrabi and her close aide Fahmeeda Sofi to Srinagar central jail, DeM spokesperson Nahida Nasreen said.

The duo was detained at Amphala jail, Jammu in April this year under Public Safety Act (PSA) for three months which was later on extended, she added.

“Though Aasiyeh’s PSA was quashed on 31 August, she is undertrial in an old case and was produced before the court and has been sent to judicial custody,” Nasreen told Narrator.

“Aasiyeh’s health is deteroirating and she needs immediate medical attention. Her continuous detention, however, has hampered her recovery and we fear that the ailment may prolong,” she said.
