The Amarnath Yatra was stalled for the second consecutive day on Friday due to bad weather, reports said.
Continuous rains for the past 36 hours have triggered landslides in the pilgrimage route, forcing authorities to halt the pilgrimage until the weather improves.
On Friday, 2,876 pilgrims left for the yatra from Baltal and Pahalgam routes. This included 2,332 males and 544 females. However, the yatra had to be halted as a stretch of 100 metre and some small bridges were washed away en-route the cave shrine.
Authorities say the decision has been taken to ensure safety of all pilgrimages headed to the cave shrine.
On Thursday, the yatra had to be halted in the morning hours due to rain. However, some pilgrims were able to pay obeisance at the cave shrine later in the day when the weather improved partially.
