Asiyeh Andrabi, associates arrested in Anantnag

Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chairperson Asiyeh Andrabi was arrested late Friday along with four of her associates by police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. 

A DeM activist said that Andrabi and her associates were arrested from a house in Anchidoora area.

“Around 10 to 15 police vehicles cordoned off the entire area before entering the house. The local residents were terrorised to see police forces in such a large number,” a DeM activist in Anantnag said.

She added that Andrabi was at her relative’s house when she was arrested by the police.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Anantnag, Altaf Khan confirmed that the police arrested Andrabi and four other members of the all-women organisation.

“They were planning some adverse things. They were instigating college girls to pelt stones on forces. That is why the detention,” Khan told Kashmir Narrator.
