Srinagar: A 16-year-old boy who was injured in a road accident “with an army vehicle” succumbs to his injuries in Sheri-Kashmir-Institute of Medical sciences (SKIMS) today. The teenager, identified as Rizwan Hassan Mir of Baghwanpora, Noorbagh, was “hit by an army vehicle” in Parimpora a week ago, the deceased youth’s family said.

“A large number of youth were waiting for his body to return from SKIMS and were eager to bury him at martyrs’ graveyard in Eidgah, against the wishes of his family,” a local who participated in youth’s funeral told Kashmir Narrator. There were minor clashes between police and youth in Eidgah, with police resorting to tear-gas shelling, the local added.
