Chief engineer I&FC inspects Jehlum dredging, expresses hope for timely completion

Srinagar: Chief engineer Irrigation and Flood Control department Shahnawaz Ahmad Saturday inspected Jehlum dredging in north Kashmir and expressed hope for the timely completion of first phase of dredging in March this year. 

A Kolkata-based firm Reach has undertaken the dredging process of the Jehlum which is supposed to complete its first phase by March 31 this year.

The chief engineer asked the firm to expedite the dredging process between Sopore bridges and Khanpora area of Baramulla, a statement issued by the Reach firm said.

“The chief engineer appreciated the firm’s endeavours and was satisfied with the overall work especially at Weerwan area of Baramullah where complete dredging has been done,” the statement said.
