Why are forces harassing families, neighbours of militants, NC MLA asks govt

A National Conference legislator Monday said the government should explain why forces were harassing the families and neighbours of militants.

He was referring to media reports about forces damaging vehicles and vandalizing houses of people in Redwani area of Kulgam.

“What is the crime of militants’ families?  Why are their families and neighbors being harassed? The forces have damaged the houses and vehicles. The cost of damages is not less than Rs 30 lakh each,” MLA Homshalibugh Abdul Majeed Larmi said in the Legislative Assembly

“Why does it happen every day?”he asked.

Larmi asked the government to explain itself on the issue. “If anyone is a militant, what is the crime of his family or any of his relatives?” he asked.
