Srinagar: Former Jammu & Kashmir Governor Lt Gen SK Sinha passed away at Army’s Research and Referral Hospital, Delhi Thursday. He died at the age of 91 after a period of brief illness at the Army hospital.
After his Army career, Sinha served as governor Assam and J&K. He served governor J&K from 2003 to 2008. He also led the first batch of Indian troops who entered J&K in 1947.
He is survived by his wife, son and IFS officer Y K Sinha who is at present Indian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and is moving for his new posting to the UK, and three daughters.
