Friday prayers barred at Jamia, Mirwaiz says PDP ‘helping BJP implement RSS agenda’

Hurriyat  Conferennce(M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday hit out at  the People’s Democratic Party for  helping its coalition partner BJP “implement RSS agenda in Kashmir” as authorities once again disallowed Friday prayers at Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid.

“This year’s forth Juma. Jamia Masjid locked. Once again ban on offering Friday congregational prayer. PDP has been standing shoulder to shoulder helping BJP to implement RSS anti Muslim agenda in the Muslim majority region,” Mirwaiz wrote on social media site Twitter.

Authorities Friday imposed restrictions in several areas of Srinagar to prevent protests in wake of a shutdown called by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Mirwaiz, Syed Ali Geelani and Yasin Malik to mark the fifth anniversary of hanging of Afzal Guru.
