Gautam Gambhir a ‘verbal terrorist’, tweets Australian journalist

Australian journalist Dennis Freedman has termed Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir a ‘verbal terrorist’ following his controversial comments suggesting to cut all ties with Pakistan.

Gautam Gambhir, who has usually opposed any bid to forge good relations between two neighbouring countries, had earlier stoked up another controversy when he suggested Indian government to cut off all ties with Pakistan, saying, “Merely boycotting cricketing ties with Pakistan will not help. If a ban is imposed, it should be in all sectors, be it films, music or any other. Nobody from Pakistan should be provided an opportunity to perform in India unless the relations between the two neighbours improve.”

Freedman called Gambhir a ‘verbal terrorist’ for his comments he made against the nature of a cricketer who is considered to be a peace ambassador by projecting good image of the country’s people with his friendly behavior to bring more nations closer.

However, Freedman’s tweet triggered yet another India-Pakistan debate, most of his followers are supporting him while some showing anger over his comments on social media.
