Geelani slams Mehbooba for calling Army most disciplined force

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Saturday hit out at chief minister Mehbooba Mufti for calling the Indian Army as “most disciplined force” in the world.

“ She has become the spokesperson of Indian barbarity and oppression in Kashmir,” Geelani said in a statement, accusing the chief minister of following the “tactics of Goebbels to repeat a lie till it becomes a truth.”

“ No conscientious and sane person would agree with her statement,” he said, adding Mehbooba’s rhetoric about AFSPA stood exposed as she had  “justified” the actions of the army.

Geelani said despite the killing of five civilians over past few days in forces’ action, Mehbooba was acting like a “loyal employee” and repeatedly praising the army and other forces as the “saviours of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He said the “lust for power turns makes these politicians unashamed of their false statements, deceit and deception.”
