Govt continues to shut down educational institutes ‘to maintain law and order’

Srinagar: It seems that the government of Jammu and Kashmir finds the closure of educational institutions as the only way to maintain law and order situation in the Valley. Under the euphemism of “as a precautionary measure”, the government has closed dozens of schools and colleges in different districts of Kashmir.

As student protests continue unabated on Thursday in Pulwama, Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, Baramulla and Kupwara, the government has decided to suspend class work in two educational institutions of Sopore.

A government order issued by District Magistrate Baramulla said that the class work in the Boys’ degree college Sopore and and Boys’ higher secondary school Sopore shall remain suspended on May 12 and 13.
