Srinagar: A number of girl students of +2 Commerce wing of Green Valley Educational Institute(GVEI), one of the leading schools of Kashmir, Wednesday visited Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Khaanah (Rahat Manzil), an orphanage run by Muslim Welfare Society, Bemina, Srinagar, and interacted with children there.
The students shared pleasantries with the children and had an enriching interaction with them, the school management said.
“The students had collected a considerable amount out of their pocket money and were eager to donate to their brethren at the orphanage. They had planned it before, but it happened in Ramadhan itself,” Rafi Ahmad Badri, In charge Activities at GVEI, said.
The students and accompanying teachers expressed gratitude towards the management of Rahat Manzil for allowing them to speak to their children.
Chairman Rahat Manzil, Ghayas-ud-Din Shah, appreciated the girl students’ care and concern for their brothers and wished them good luck in their future endeavours.
General Secretary Rahat Manzil, Shaqeeq Ajaz, said that around 400 children are enrolled at the orphanage where their boarding, lodging, education is all taken care of.
