India, Pak exchange fire across LoC

Srinagar: Pakistani and Indian troops exchanged fire across the line of control (LoC) on Wednesday after the heavily militarised border remained largely quiet for nearly 24 hours, Dawn reported.

“Indian resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on LoC in Shahkot, Jura, Battal, Karela, Bagh , Bagsar, Hotspring sectors today,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement was quoted by the newspaper website.

The ISPR claimed that Indians forces were targeting civilian population, the report said.

An intense exchange of fire is currently ongoing as Pakistani troops target Indian posts, the report further quoted ISPR statement.
