Kathua: No ‘communal angle’ in stabbing case of Muslim youth, say police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police said Wednesday that the murder of a Muslim youth at Ther in Kathua district has no communal overtones and the act was an outcome of an old rivalry.

“The incident occurred due to the scuffle between two individuals in which one Liyakat Ali got seriously injured who later succumbed to his injuries. Two youth namely Abhishek Sharma and Honey Khajuria have been arrested and the car used in the offence has been seized. One more youth who was in the car namely Pankas Sharma was also arrested,” a police official said.

He also said that investigation in the case is going on and the incident does not have any communal angle and police advised people not to pay heed to rumours spread by mischief mongers who are giving communal angle to the case.
