A man was shot dead today while he was trying to enter the residence of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah in Jammu, reports said.
A person travelling in a car broke the security barricade and attempted to enter the Bhatindi residence of Abdullah at around 10:26 am, the reports added.
The sentry of CRPF E/38 BN deployed at the gate shot the person dead. An on-duty officer also received injuries in the incident.
The deceased was identified as Murfad Hussain Shah (26), a resident of Ghaluta in Mendhar area of Poonch district of the state.
“I am aware of the incident that took place at the residence my father & I share in Bhatindi, Jammu. Details are sketchy at the moment. Initial reports suggest an intruder was able to gain entry through the front door & into the upper lobby of the house,” said Omar Abdullah on Twitter.
