Srinagar: Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary-General once said, “There is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of woman.” True. Women in every corner of the world have proven that they can equally contribute to the society if given the empowerment.
Kashmir too has innumerable faces of women who have proven their talent in different fields of life to ultimately contribute to the society. Dr Ridwana Sanam is one of them. Sanam, 34, hails from Kullar, a small village in south Kashmir. She is today one of the known personalities in the health sector of India.
Dr Sanam is the founder-owner of a premier health enterprise called KRV Healthcare and Physiotherapy Pvt Ltd., based in Gurgaon Haryana. She launched this multi-super speciality Physical therapy Institute in 2006.
“KRV houses six centres of excellence which provide medical intelligentsia, cutting-edge technology, state of the art infrastructure with highly integrated and comprehensive information system. Dr Ridwana is trying her best to give best and affordable Physiotherapy Services to people,” says Dr Sanam.
In recognition of her successful health enterprise, she was awarded by World Women Leadership Congress awards for Best Entrepreneur Skills. Her company was also awarded as Best Physiotherapy Company in India for 2014-2015 in June 2016. Due to turmoil, her family left Kashmir a couple of decades ago and this thing, according to her, gave an opportunity to enhance her talent.
She studied in Bangalore and got settled in Gurgaon back in 2009.

The company has more than 100 committed doctors on call.
