Srinagar: Much hyped meeting between Kashmiri resistance leaders and all stake-holders of the movement to discuss the “future strategy” is about to begin at the residence of Hurriyat (G) Hyderpora headquarters today.
However, the media is barred by the police to cover the event, journalists waiting outside the Hurriyat office said.
An eyewitness said that a number of people from different walks of life including traders’ body, civil society members, transporters’ association, educationists, religious figures, bar association members and others headed this morning to the Hurriyat headquarters at Hyderpora.
“A large number of people are outside the building where the meeting is scheduled waiting anxiously what decision will be taken. One of them shouted on seeing JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik, ‘Don’t let the blood of martyrs go in vain’,” the eyewitness told Kashmir Narrator.
Earlier, top three pro-freedom leaders, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik met on Sunday to discuss the issue with all stakeholders of the meet.
Kashmir Valley has remained shut since 9 July when popular militant commander Burhan Wani, along with his two associates, was killed by the Indian forces.
