Militants kill 3 army men in Pampore ambush

Srinagar: Three army men were killed in an ambush by militants in Pampore town of Pulwama district on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, Indian army’s Northern Command confirmed in a tweet.

“Militants attack army convoy in Kadlabal area Pampore, 3 soldiers martyred. Search ops in progress,” the tweet read.

Another soldier is believed to be seriously injured in the attack and is undergoing treatment in an army hospital.

Sources said that the militants laid an ambush on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Kadlabal area of Pampore on Saturday late afternoon and attacked an army convoy. The militants were believed to have come on a motorbike and later fled from the spot on it.
