Indian actor and filmmaker Shekhar Suman’s upcoming movie ‘Pattharbaaz’ will be based on the “stone pelters of the Kashmir valley.”
Pattharbaaz will be a first-person account of a young stone pelter who chooses to turn his life around after a series of setbacks, Scroll.in reported. “Stone-pelting is a very topical issue with stone-pelters seen to be at the forefront, given the strife and trouble in the Kashmir valley for the past two years,” Suman said in a press release. “There are several issues here including paid stone-pelters. This issue raises many questions on whether these stone-pelters are paid by external forces or if it’s the youth from the valleys that are disgruntled and upset with the government.”
Cast details have not yet been shared. Suman made his directorial debut in 2014 with the medical thriller Heartless, starring his son Adhyayan Suman in the lead role.
