IN PICTURES: Restrictions in Srinagar

Authorities Friday imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar to foil protest march called by the Joint Resistance Leadership to Shopian against the recent civilian killings in the district in Army firing.

Friday prayers were disallowed at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar as police and CRPF troopers enforced restrictions  in areas falling under police stations Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Maharajgunj and Safakadal in Srinagar. Restrictions were also imposed in some parts of Maisuma and Kralkhud police stations in the city.

While Geelani and Mirwaiz were placed under house arrest, Malik reportedly managed to reached Shopian, where he was detained by the police.
