Protests erupted in Ganderbal and Srinagar on Tuesday over the latest incidents of alleged braid chopping.
People took to streets in Habba Kadal area of Srinagar over the braid chopping of a woman in the Karfalli Mohalla locality earlier this morning. Shouting anti-government and pro-freedom slogans, the protestors including children and women demanded action against the culprits.
Protests were also held in Arhama and Kujar areas of Ganderbal after unknown persons chopped off the braid of two girls, aged 15 and 10.
Police has yet to issue a statement on these incidents.
Panic has gripped the Kashmir valley following a spate of braid-chopping incidents across the Valley during the last month . Police, however, has not been able to arrest a single culprit despite announcing reward money, helplines and probe teams to crack the case.
