Pulwama clashes: 8 injured, 2 referred to Srinagar

Srinagar: Eight protesters were injured today during clashes with government forces in Pulwama soon after the funeral of a local Hizbul Mujahideen militant Mussavir Wani who was killed yesterday in a brief gunfight. 

Reports said that soon after Wani was laid to rest at his ancestral village graveyard, the youth took to streets and clashed with the forces deployed in the area.

Eight protesters injured in the clashes were shifted to a local hospital for treatment where from two injured were referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment, a local report said.

The clashes were going on at various places in the district at the time of the filling of this report.
