A soldier and a civilian were injured during a shootout between government forces and militants in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday night.
Reports said that the suspected militants opened fire upon army’s 50 RR camp at Kakapora Sunday night.
While confirming the incident, SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudary told local news agency GNS that militants fired upon the army camp late this night.
The fire was retaliated by army triggering off a brief encounter.
In the incident a soldier was injured, SSP said.
He said that a civilian is also said to have received bullet wounds in the crossfire.
Soon after the incident the government forces launched a hunt to nab the attackers.
