Four army troopers and two policemen were among seven people killed in separate accidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.
Three people, including two police personnel, were killed and seven others injured in road accidents in Kupwara and Pulwama districts of Kashmir.
In Kupwara, two persons were killed and four others injured after their car skidded and fell into a stream in the Kralpora area, a police spokesman said.
The deceased were identified as Head Constable Habibullah Lone and Ruqaiya Begum, he said.
In the other accident, two cars collided at the Barsoo area in Pulwama, killing a police constable and injuring three others, the spokesman said.
Constable Farooq was declared brought dead by doctors at a hospital in the district, he said.
Four troopers were killed and one injured after their car fell into a 400-feet deep gorge in Ramban district, reports said.
The accident took place on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway when the troopers were going from Srinagar to Jammu, the reports said.
The deceased were identified as Pawan Kumar of village Bachyaal, Vijay Kumar, son of Rattan Lal of Gau Manasa, Omparkash of Sunetar Ramnagar Udhampur and Pawan Kumar of Akhnoor.
The injured soldier was identified as Joginder Pal of Kathua.
The car skidded off the highway and fell into the 400- feet deep gorge near Shaitani Nallah in the Banihal belt tonight, a police officer said.
The injured trooper has been admitted to the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Banihal, the officer said.
