Srinagar: Pro-freedom leader and Chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah has adopted Insha Mushtaq, a 14-year-old girl from South Kashmir’s Shopian who lost her eyesight due to pellet injuries, a statement issued here said.
“From now she is my third daughter and will take her care of her till my last breath,” the statement quoted Shah to have said.
“A delegation of Freedom Party visited the residence of Insha Mushtaq and apprised the family of Shabir Ahmad Shah’s decision. It has been a deep desire of Shabir Ahmad Shah Sahib that a mission be started to help such victims to return to normal life and fulfill the dreams they had in their lives,” the statement said, adding that it is their “moral responsibilities towards the victims of the ongoing Intifada.”
DFP spokesperson also paid tributes to slain militant Rayees Ahmad Dar of Kakapora, Pulwama, who was killed by the government forces on Saturday.
Reacting to Indian Defence Minister’s recent statement of linking demonetisation with stone-pelting Shah said, “Mr Manohar Parrikar must bear in mind that the Intifada movement will continue till the achievement of freedom. Shaheed Rayees was an educated youth and from a well-to-do family. His martyrdom is a slap on the face of Parrikar that freedom movement in Kashmir is run by money,” the statement quoted Shah.
