Srinagar: The meeting called by the pro-freedom camp with “all stakeholders of the movement” to discuss the ‘future strategy’ is underway at the Hurriyat (G) headquarters, Hyderpora.
The media, however, was barred by the police to cover the event.
Educationists, religious figures, traders, doctors, lawyers and other members of civil society are present in the meeting, sources told Kashmir Narrator.
“Since media was barred to enter the Hurriyat premises, we expect a press conference at the end of the meeting,” said a source.
Earlier, top three resistance leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, who spearhead the present uprising, agreed to meet with “all the stakeholders of the movement” to discuss the “future course of the freedom struggle”.
Kashmir Valley has remained shut since 9 July when popular militant commander Burhan Wani, along with his two associates, was killed by the Indian forces.
