
Srinagar: Students of Boys’ Higher Secondary school clashed with police in Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Thursday after a protest march carried out by them was thwarted by the government forces, triggering a shutdown in main chowk Pulwama.
The students were demanding the release of their classmates arrested yesterday, an eyewitness said.
The government forces fired tear-gas shells to thwart the protest march, the eyewitness said.
The clashes were going on in the area till last reports came.
