Wakf Board is mulling making “Sufi practices” part of the overall curriculum in schools run by it.

This was stated by Wakf Board Vice Chairman Nizamuddin Bhat during the valedictory function of week-long ‘Special Teacher-Training Programme’ for the teachers of Wakf run schools.

Wakf is an entity with a distinct identity and most of it is based on Sufi traditions, an official statement quoted Bhat as saying.

“Wakf Board will, therefore, consider an idea to make the Sufi practices as part of the overall curriculum so that Sufi skills are sustained and the heritage is duly preserved for prosperity,” he said.
