Thousands attend militant’s funeral at Kakapora

Pulwama, Kakapora: Thousands of people are waiting to offer the funeral prayers over slain local militant Rayees Ahmad Dar in Kakapora, Pulwama in South Kashmir on Sunday morning.

Dar, an engineering student, was killed on Saturday evening in a brief encounter at Begum Bagh, Kakapora.

According to locals, Dar had joined Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit some one-and-a-half month back.

“The funeral is about to begin. We are waiting for others to join,” a man who was standing close to the slain militant’s body told the gathering at 10:30am.
