Srinagar: Thousands of people today attended the funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Shafat Hussain Wani at his native Wagoora village in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Men, women and children were seen assembled at Wagoora after the news of Shafat Hussain Wani’s death spread in the area.
Pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans were raised by the mourners during the funeral. Wani was buried at his ancestral graveyard.
Authorities suspended the mobile Internet service in parts of Baramulla soon after Wani’s killing.
