‘Violence in Kashmir is state-sponsored terrorism’: Pak army

Srinagar: Pakistan Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday visited the Line of Control (LoC) in Haji Pir Sector of Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PaK) and reiterated support for the “rightful political struggle of Kashmiris for right to self-determination,” Dawn reported.

After being briefed on the situation along the LoC, ceasefire violations and operational readiness of the formation, the COAS appreciated the operational preparedness and high morale of troops, the report added.

“India had unleashed its aggression and frustration on the people of Kashmir as well as Pakistani villages along the LoC and Working Boundary,” the report quoted Bajwa as saying.

However, he made it clear that Pakistan Army would keep its response purely in the military domain in accordance with its values.

“The violence perpetuated by the Indian forces in held Kashmir is state-sponsored terrorism by all definitions,” Bajwa was quoted as saying.
