Wife of Hurriyat leader GM Safi laid to rest in Pakistan

MUZAFFARABAD: The wife of Ghulam Muhammad Safi, convener Hurriyat Conference (Pakistan chapter) was on Monday laid to rest in Islamabad. She passed away on Monday after protracted illness.

A large number of people participated in her funeral prayers held at Jamia Masjid, Block C, Police Foundation in Islamabad. People from all walks of life visited Safi’s house to express condolences.

Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PaK) President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan have expressed deep condolences on the demise of wife of Safi. They commiserated with the bereaved family and the people of Kashmir and also prayed that may Almighty Allah grant her Janatul Firdous and patience to the bereaved family.

Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani in a statement issued in Srinagar has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of the wife of Safi. He expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference leaders including Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Zafar Butt, Nazir Ahmad Shawl, and the JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in their statements issued in Srinagar also expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over demise of the wife of Safi.
