Woman killed as India, Pak trade fire along LoC in Rajouri

Srinagar: A woman was killed in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday night as the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC).

Indiscriminate firing and shelling by Pakistan Army late on Wednesday night in Naushera sector caused her death, Defence spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told a news agency

“Pakistan Army initiated the firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars from 10.40 p.m. along the Line of Control,” Mehta told the news agency.

“The Indian Army posts are retaliating strongly and effectively.The firing is presently on.”
