Youth critically injured in police action in Balhama, shifted to hospital

Srinagar: A youth was critically injured today when a tear-gas shell hit his abdomen during clashes with police and paramilitary forces in Balhama on Srinagar outskirts.

The clashes erupted in the area after the dead body of a Pakistani militant was recovered from the debris of gunfight site where two militants were killed during an encounter on Thursday evening.

The Pakistani militant was identified as Abu Hammas.

The injured was identified as Farman Ahmad of Balhama and was shifted to Sub-District hospital Pampore, a news report said.

The clashes were going on in the area when this report was filed.
