YouTube has taken down from its site a video showing troopers beating and forcing a Kashmiri youth to chant anti-Pakistan slogans inside an Army vehicle.
KashmirWatchTV, which had posted the clip last year, received a message from YouTube saying the video ‘Kashmir youth tortured by Indian Army during Ramdhan’ was removed after being flagged for review.
“ Upon review, we’ve determined that it violates our guidelines. We’ve removed it from YouTube and assigned a Community Guidelines strike, or temporary penalty, to your account.”
Several video clips showing Army and CRPF personnel thrashing Kashmiri youth had gone viral on social media sites last year.
Following outrage in Kashmir, the army had said it would ascertain the veracity of the videos and take appropriate action.
