15-year-old boy, 2 militants killed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

Amir Nazir, the slain youth of Begumbagh, Pulwama

Srinagar: A 15-year-old boy and two militants were killed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after an encounter ensued between militants and government forces during wee hours of Thursday. The boy was identified as Amir Nazir of Begumbagh area of Pulwama who died during clashes between locals and police at the encounter site.

Superintendent police Pulwama district RM Bhat confirmed the death of one civilian and identified him as Amir Nazir of Begumbagh Pulwama.

Earlier, two militants Jehangir Ganai and Mohammad Shafi were killed by the government forces in a gun battle in Padgampora, Pulwama, a local news portal reported.

Eyewitnesses said that locals clashed with police at the encounter site in which a number of civilians got injured.

“Amir had a bullet injury in his neck due to which he died,” an eyewitness told Kashmir Narrator.
