After Zakir’s threat to Hurriyat, govt ready to think over their security

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said that her government would think about providing security to Hurriyat leaders if they ask for it.

“If anyone asks security then we will think about it,” Mehbooba said at a function at TRC here.

The statement came in the backdrop of militant commander Zakir Bhat aka Moosa’s threat of killing Hurriyat leaders for calling the Kashmir-struggle as political, not Islamic.

His statement, however, was disowned by the militant outfit and called it “unacceptable”, which lead Zakir to disassociate himself from the outfit.
