The ‘Joint Resistance Leadership’ (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called for a protest shutdown on Monday against the “braid-chopping conspiracy.”
In a joint statement, the leaders alleged a “planned conspiracy behind the incidents of braid-chopping of Kashmiri women.”
They said the “despicable acts of braid-chopping posed a challenge to the honour of Kashmiris.”
“We need to send a message to the perpetrators of this conspiracy that the Kashmiri people will not be cowed into giving up their demand for right to self-determination through intimidation,” they said.
