Srinagar: A paramilitary BSF trooper shot dead three colleagues with his service weapon before committing suicide on Sunday at a border outpost in India’s northeast state of Tripura.

The BSF trooper opened fire on three others including a head constable before killing himself at Maguruli in Unakoti district, about 180 km from capital Agartala, the PTI news agency quoted the police as saying. The incident happened at around 1 am.

It was not immediately known what prompted the trooper to shoot at his colleagues and himself.
