Srinagar: Dukhataran-e-Millat (DeM) chief Aasiyeh Andrabi and her close aide Fahmeeda Sofi are being shifted to Amphala jail in Jammu on Thursday, the organisation’s spokesperson Nahida Nasreen said.
The duo was earlier booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and was supposed to be incarcerated in Kotbhalwal jail in Jammu.
“The warrant handed over to us stated that the duo will be incarcerated in Baramullah jail. Then it was changed to Kotbhalwal jail. Later on, on the directions of home ministry, the government shifted the duo to Amphala jail in Jammu,” Nahida told Narrator.
“The health condition of Aasiyeh didn’t allow her to travel, yet the government was adamant to transfer her today,” Nahida said.
The pro-freedom group has asked the people to hold peaceful protests after Friday prayers tomorrow against the arrest of the duo under the PSA.
