Forces killed a youth in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district Saturday soon after Eid prayers were concluded in Ashajipora area of the district.

The slain youth was identified as Sheeraz Ahmad of Brakpora who succumbed at a hospital. Local reports said the deceased had suffered pellet injuries in his throat and head.

At least seventeen youth were injured in the forces’ action and all the injured were shifted to district hospital Anantnag for treatment, reports added.

Two youth hit by pellets in their eyes were referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
