Authorities in Srinagar have cancelled the cross-LoC travel “permit” of a Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PaK) resident for “violating norms” during his stay in Jammu and Kashmir.

Justice Syed Manzoor Hussain Gilani, a former judge at the PaK Supreme Court, had arrived from PaK on September 21 via the Kaman crossing point  and his permit was cancelled after he “violated norms at cross Loc travel during their stay at J&K(sic),” according to an email sent by authorities in Srinagar to their counterparts in Muzaffarabad.

Billed as a confidence-building measure by India and Pakistan, the cross-LoC bus service was started on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad route in the Kashmir Valley in April 2005 and the Poonch-Rawalakot route in the Jammu region in June  2006, to facilitate easier trade and travel between the two divided parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
