Srinagar: The district administration on Thursday sealed office of Vista Group, a company which had last month announced a mega recruitment drive in Srinagar and ordered freezing of its bank account over fake registration.
Last month, the company had announced 631 jobs, over 500 alone in Srinagar from various service sectors including media manager and content writer for media men.
The order for freezing the account and sealing of the office was issued by Sub Divisional Magistrate (E), Srinagar and it followed a sequel to the reports (bearing U.O No. CID/NGO/SR/6420-21 dated 29/10/2016) received from Inspector General of Police, CID, J&K, to the District Magistrate, Srinagar.
The District Magistrate had forward the report (vide No. DCS/PS/Conf/16/1282-83) on November 1 to the SDM for taking cognizance of the mala-fides and fake registration certificate.
Accordingly, a case was listed for hearing on Thursday before Assistant Labour Commissioner Srinagar, certificate issuing authority, and Burhan Beig, Proprietor of M/S Vista Group, 110/2 Wazir Bagh, Srinagar along with his counsel were present.
Subsequently, the Assistant Labour Commissioner presented a report (bearing No. ALC/Sgr/2016/531-34) sought by the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Srinagar, which revealed that the registration certificate (bearing No. 8714/A/III/Sgr dated 20.12.2014 shown to be issued to M/S Vista Group, 110/2 Wazir Bagh, Srinagar) is fake and false and there was no record available in the office. Further the report revealed that the Registration Certificate has been issued to M/S Saalah and Co, Maharaj Bazar, Srinagar for the year 2014-2017.
Burhan Beig’s counsel on being asked about the functioning of the accounts, provided a copy statement of the Account bearing (No. 916020037797791 operating in the name of Vista Group 110/2 Wazir Bagh, Srinagar in Axis Bank.
“Account bearing No. 916020037797791 operating in the name of Vista Group 110/2 Wazir Bagh, Srinagr in Axis Bank is frozen forthwith till further orders,” the SDM said and directed Tehsil, South Srinagar (Executive Magistrate Ist Class) to seal the office and submit a report in this regard. Station house officer concerned was asked provide necessary police assistance to the Tehsildar (Executive Magistrate 1st Class) to avoid any law and order problem. It listed the case for further consideration November 7.
Late on Thursday evening, the Tehsildar along with police sealed the office in compliance to the orders by the SMD, officials said.
