GVEI observes World Book Day, holds debate competition

Srinagar: Green Valley Educational Institute, one of the leading schools of Kashmir, Monday observed World Book Day and held an inter-school debate at its premises in Srinagar.

A number of students from top Valley schools participated in the debate and spoke on the topic, “Have e-books outdated the conventional reading?”.

Mukaram from Kashmir Harvard bagged the Frist prize in the debate competition while as Mallison school’s Zainab and Burnhall school’s Kumail Muzaffar bagged second and third prize respectively.

Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Chairman GVEI; Tariq Bhat, CEO Associated Media, and Aasif Sultan, Assistant Editor Kashmir Narrator, were also present at the event.

GVEI students exhibited their photographs and Artwork while observing World Book Day.

World Book and Copyright Day is a yearly event on 23 April, organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, to promote reading, publishing and copyright.
