Srinagar: You may have faced trouble while applying to acquire the death certificate of a relative, but in a peculiar occurrence, a death certificate has troubled a living man as he claims that he has lost it and wants to apply for the issuance of a duplicate copy.  The man has issued a public notice on Saturday, May 20, about his lost death certificate in a Srinagar-based Urdu newspaper.

The notice that appeared on page 4 of the newspaper reads: “I have lost my Death Certificate. I want its duplicate. If any person(s) has any objection in this regard, he/she may approach Police Station Ajas Bandipora within a week. No objection shall be entertained after that.”

Interestingly, the words ‘Death Certificate’ are written in English while the notice is in Urdu.

The public notice also gives the name and contact number of the advertiser. However, the mobile number provided in the notice was continuously switched off.
