Indian Army launches massive assault along LoC: Reports

Srinagar: The Indian Army has launched a massive assault on Pakistan in Poonch and Rajouri districts, a day after three Indian soldiers were killed in Machil sector of Kupwara district in northern Kashmir, media reports said on Wednesday.

According to the reports, Pakistan violated yet another ceasefire in Bhimber Gali, Krishna Ghati and Nowshera sectors of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

In reaction to the “mutilation” of one Indian soldier on Tuesday, the Army Northern Command vowed revenge, promising that “retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act.”

Earlier on Tuesday, the Army had neutralised two “foreign militants” in Bandipora district and recovered Rs 2,000 notes along with the ammunition.

Over 290 incidents of firing and shelling along the LoC and the International Border by Pakistani troops have been witnessed since “Indian army conducted surgical strikes” on militant launch pads in Pakistan-administered Kashmir on 29 September, the reports added.
