
GNS news agency reported that police and paramilitary forces fired teargas and pellets to disperse protesters in Soura last evening.
It said that two youth were injured in the forces’ action with one of them, identified as Abdul Majeed Var son of Ghulam Nabi of Anchar Soura, receiving critical head injuries.
According to the report, Var was hit by pellets fired from a close range.
Both the injured were taken to nearby SKIMS where the condition of Var is stated to be critical, it said.
Medical Superintendent, SKIMS Soura Dr. Farooq Jan confirmed that the youth was received in critical condition. “His condition is very serious and he is on the ventilator,” he said.
