
Srinagar: Kashmiri journalist-writer Basharat Peer, who shot to fame with his debut book Curfewed Night, is joining International New York Times as Staff Editor, newspaper’s Global Editor Lydia Polgreen announced on Twitter.
“Now this is awesome news,” Polgreen tweeted. “@Basharat Peer joins NYT as an opinion editor.”
Peer is a regular contributor at NY times and has recently written an opinion piece in the same newspaper titled Kashmir, and the Inheritance of Loss, which talks about the recent uprising in the Valley.
