Kashmiri man detained for ‘suspicious activity’

An unidentified Kashmiri man traveling by train in Uttar Pradesh was detained and handed over to the anti-terrorism squad after being reported for “suspicious activity,” according to a media report.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) of Mathura on Sunday detained the man travelling in the Shatabdi Express “after the train ticket examiner, who was present in the coach, observed him doing some suspicious activities,” news agency ANI reported.

After interrogating the suspect for eight hours, the police found out that he was a resident of Anantnag area of Jammu and Kashmir and was “carrying many Aadhaar cards and several documents.”
